Nightforce Optics is seeking a skilled CNC Machinist to support daily machine shop operations, including full setup and operation of CNC and manual equipment. This role works closely with other machinists to maintain efficiency, meet deadlines, and handle moderately complex machining tasks. Location: Orofino, ID Shifts: Monday-Thursday or Tuesday-Friday What you will be doing: Essential Job Duties Have the ability to set-up and run CNC Machines without supervision Ensure all documentation is complete and accurate Help monitor the overall quality of parts and assemblies produced in the shop Detect and report defective equipment, materials, and/or faulty operations Follow work rules and standard safety regulations at all times Mentor and assist in the training of Level I CNC Machinists and Machine Shop Production Workers Contribute to the implementation of new production techniques to improve production levels and quality. Assist with identifying opportunities for process improvement Ensure preventative maintenance is performed on all machines Assist in facilitation outside processes including anodizing, heat treating, and parts finishing Requirements What we need from you: Required Minimum Qualifications Two (2) years of experience with all aspects of a machine shop, including CNC machining operations and programming Ability to use measuring tools Must have experience or the ability to learn small, extremely precise parts and assemblies Must have a familiarity or working knowledge of inspection and tolerance techniques Must possess the visual acuity for working with small precision parts Must possess the ability to setup and run CNC machines Must have a knowledge of outside processes including anodizing, heat treating and parts finishing Must understand all aspects of thread fits and gaging Multi-task machining experience would be considered a plus Must be a self-starter with an ability to work with a positive attitude in a team atmosphere Must be able to optimize programs and machines to run as efficiently as possible Must be able to stand for extended periods of time Must be willing to work any shift Physical Requirements: Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds at times, with or without accommodation. Manual dexterity as needed to operate a variety of machinery and equipment.
