JOB DESCRIPTION

Job Title: CNC Programmer
Department: Machining
Reports to: Plant Manager

JOB QUALIFICATIONS:

· 1-3 years experience in a manufacturing setting
· High School graduate
· Knowledge of machining and manufacturing methods
· Knowledge of SolidWorks CAD software
· Knowledge of CNC programming and setup
· Ability to read blueprints
· Experienced using micrometers, gages, and optical inspection equipment
· Creative thinking and problem solving skills
· Strong people skills and committed to fostering good associate relations
· Must be capable of working productively with employees in all departments

1. Work closely with Project Engineer and Plant Manager to fulfill production requirements.
2. Operate computer to generate CAD drawings, access emails, and utilize other office support software (ie. Microsoft Office Suite).
3. Setup and operate a variety of machine tools including drill press, milling machine, lathe, CNC lathes, grinding equipment, threading machines, and various other machine shop equipment.
4. Create tool paths for manufacturing parts. Determine proper feed rates and cutting speeds. Select tooling to be used. Store programs in the computer and maintain all CNC files. Create setup sheets for all programs.
5. Manufacture parts to drawing specifications and document all procedures used. Maintain fixturing.
6. The manufacture of machined parts requires the following physical abilities:
   · Finger dexterity required to manipulate objects with fingers rather than with whole hand(s) or arm(s).
   · Handling by seizing, holding, grasping, turning, or otherwise working with the hand or hands.
   · Standing for extended periods of time.
   · Sitting in a normal seated position for extended periods of time.
7. Knowledge that Continental Cable is an ISO/AS certified company and understands the Quality Policy.
8. Maintain a safe work environment at all times and follow all Continental Cable safety policies including safety glasses, work shoes and all required personal protection equipment.
9. Perform all other duties as assigned.
   Job Type: Full-time
   Pay: From $30.00 per hour
   Expected hours: 40 per week
