Description Specialty Metals has a career opportunity for a CNC Machinist/Programmer to lead our day to day machining operations through quoting, programming, machine operations, and subordinate delegation. You will be responsible for development and modification of NC programs for mill and lathe operations. You will share in the team’s impact on all aspects of producing accurate programs, set-up sheets, and tool lists enabling first article success on tight tolerance high value parts. This position will directly affect the safety, quality, and efficiency of production and will require your dedicated commitment and detailed attention towards safe and repeatable-machined parts through hands on tasks as well as through delegation of responsibilities. Pay range $50.00 to $60.00 per hour. Responsibilities: Bid/quote/estimate jobs based on customer RFQ’s as communicated by sales Advise the sales team on machine time estimates and job specific tooling costs Create setup and supporting documentation to adequately instruct machine operators on the loading and execution of NC programs. Support AS9100 Audits and ensure compliance to established standards Mentor subordinate machinists to foster growth and proficiency Create NC programs using the latest version of MasterCAM Design custom tools and fixtures as needed Communicate with sales, customer’s and other machinists as needed Process improvement (both machining actual inputs and process changes) Maintain configuration control on electronic files and job records Safely work within an industrial environment Requirements Qualifications: This position requires a minimum of 5 years of experience in CNC Programming Purchasing Understanding of G & M codes Understanding of GD&T Oversee a small team of machinists Excellent blue print reading skills Fixture design Set-up sheet creation Initial feeds and speeds Tool selection Eight years of machining experience in both Mill and Lathe operations Design for manufacture experience Excellent Communication and leadership skills Must have experience in Stainless, Aluminum, Titanium, Nickel and other exotic materials Experience using precision hand and measuring tools Individual must be self-motivating and able to motivate others Our Company is an Equal Employment Opportunity Company.
