Job Title: CNC Machinist (Setting and Operating)
Location: Stanley
Hourly Rate: Up to £15.31 per hour + 30% shift allowance for nights
Shifts: Dayshift / Nightshift – 2 week rotation

JOB DESCRIPTION:

We are looking for an experienced CNC Machinist (Setting and Operating) to set up, operate, and maintain CNC machinery in a fast-paced production environment. You will play a key role in delivering high-quality components to specification, working within a safety-conscious and quality-driven team. This is a hands-on role, ideal for someone with a strong mechanical aptitude and previous experience with FANUC CNC systems.

As a CNC Machinist (Setting and Operating), you will:

  • Set up FANUC CNC machines, including loading tools, fixtures, and programs
  • Operate machines to produce components to tight tolerances
  • Perform routine maintenance and tooling changes
  • Monitor production and carry out in-process inspections
  • Troubleshoot basic equipment or programming issues
  • Ensure compliance with safety policies and company procedures
  • Support wider machining tasks such as drilling, tapping, and bandsaw operations when required

SKILLS & EXPERIENCE:

To be successful in this CNC Machinist (Setting and Operating) role, you should demonstrate:

  • Prior experience setting and operating FANUC-controlled CNC machines
  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and work instructions
  • Familiarity with quality control and precision measuring instruments
  • A hands-on, problem-solving approach and a positive attitude
  • Good communication skills and the ability to work both independently and in a team
  • Willingness to work overtime and adapt to a rotating shift schedule
  • A commitment to workplace safety and continuous improvement
