About the Opportunity: Operates Okuma CNC Milling & Turning machines under the direction of the area supervisor or Lead Person. Location: Farmington, CT - This position is 100% on site, Monday through Friday with overtime available (1st shift: 7:00am-3:30pm ET). Responsibilities: * Performs set-ups and operates Okuma CNC mill & turn machines and related equipment where programs, fixtures, and methods have been developed. * Makes all edits and adjustments as required to produce parts to work orders/blueprint specifications/sketches. * The ability to operate more than one machine in a cellular environment is required. * Demonstrates a working knowledge of feeds and speeds and a working knowledge of cutting tools and their application. * Inspects work for all dimensional features as required. * Produces quality and quantity of work in accordance with Company requirements. * Responsible for accurately completing paperwork relating to counts, scrap, time, etc according to Company policy. * Performs duties always exercising good machining practices. * Maintains area, equipment, and tooling in a neat, orderly condition including operator maintenance sheets. * Maintains coolant tanks and fills as necessary. * Assists new and less experienced operators as requested. * Observes all Company policies, rules, and regulations including good housekeeping, safety and security. Required Qualifications: * High school diploma or equivalent * Must be authorized to work in the U.S. on a full-time basis without sponsorship now or in the future. The Company cannot offer employment to visa holders who require employer sponsorship in the future or cannot work now on a full-time basis. * Must be able to perform work subject to ITAR/EAR regulations. Preferred Qualifications: * 0-2 years CNC machinist experience * Ability to understand and follow instructions in English. * Ability to understand and interpret blueprints and sketches. * Basic mechanical ability. * Experience with Okuma CNC machines and Fanuc controls * Experience operating in a cellular manufacturing environment * Prior experience using precision measuring instruments * Exposure to aerospace or tight-tolerance manufacturing environments Working Conditions * Must be able to have prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer. * Must be able to frequently sit, stand and walk. * Must be able to lift and carry up to 15 pounds. * Personal protective equipment (e.g., safety glasses and safety shoes) is required on the shop floor * Occasional weekend and evening work may be required to accommodate priorities, deadlines, and schedules.
