REQUIREMENTS:

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in CNC machining and process engineering
  • Extensive hands-on experience with CNC machine programming, setup, and operation, including advanced skills like probe and macro programming
  • Proficiency in CAD/CAM software (e.g., SolidWorks CAD, Esprit CAM, NX CAM, or equivalent) including simulation software (Vericut)
  • In-depth knowledge of multi-axis CNC machining (3, 4, and 5-axis mills, and multi-axis mill-turn lathes)
  • Strong understanding of GD&T (ANSI Y14.5) and blueprint reading
  • Extensive knowledge and use of common metrology and measurement systems
  • Experience with Lean Manufacturing principles and process optimization
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to perform root cause analysis
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills, with the ability to collaborate across departments

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor’s degree in manufacturing engineering, mechanical engineering, or a related field
  • Experience with PC-DMIS CMM programming and/or automation engineering
  • Experience in firearms manufacturing
  • Familiarity with ERP/MRP systems (preferably Epicor) for production planning
  • Certifications such as Six Sigma Green Belt, AS9100, or ISO 9001 experience

Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement efficient CNC machining processes, including tooling, fixtures, and programming for multi-axis CNC machines
  • Create and optimize CNC programs using CAD/CAM software, ensuring compliance with product specifications and quality standards
  • Analyze manufacturing workflows and identify opportunities to improve productivity, reduce cycle times, and minimize waste
  • Collaborate with design engineers to ensure manufacturability of new products, offering DFM (Design for Manufacturability) input during the design phase
  • Lead troubleshooting and root-cause analysis for manufacturing issues, implementing corrective actions to prevent recurrence
  • Evaluate and select CNC equipment, tooling, and technologies to support production needs
  • Establish and maintain process documentation, including work instructions, setup sheets, and standard operating procedures
  • Train and mentor machine operators and other staff on CNC processes, best practices, and quality standards
  • Support Lean Manufacturing and continuous improvement initiatives, including 5S, Six Sigma, and Kaizen projects
  • Ensure compliance with safety, environmental, and regulatory requirements in all manufacturing processes
