We are seeking an experienced CNC Mazak Lathe Operator to join our die cast mold shop team. The primary focus of this role is to manufacture high-precision cores for die cast molds using Mazak CNC lathes. The ideal candidate will ensure efficient production, maintain strict quality standards, and manage inventory of cores and materials. This position requires a detail-oriented individual with strong technical skills in CNC machining, finishing processes, and shop operations to support our mold production needs.

QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS

  • Proven experience (3-5 years preferred) operating CNC lathes, Manual Lathes, and manual grinders, with specific hands-on knowledge of Mazak machines and controls.
  • Strong understanding of machining principles, including reading and interpreting blueprints, GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerance), and material properties relevant to die cast molds (e.g., tool steels, alloys).
  • Proficiency in using precision measuring instruments and performing quality inspections to ensure parts meet exact specifications.
  • Ability to perform manual finishing tasks such as stoning and polishing with attention to detail.
  • Basic inventory management skills, including tracking and organizing materials in a manufacturing setting.
  • Familiarity with die cast mold production processes, including core manufacturing, is highly desirable.
  • High school diploma or equivalent; technical certification in CNC machining or related field is a plus.
  • Excellent problem-solving abilities, mechanical aptitude, and the capacity to work independently or in a team.
  • Physical stamina to stand for extended periods, lift up to 50 lbs, and work in a shop environment with exposure to noise, dust, and machinery.
