KEY REQUIREMENTS

Essential

  • Previous experience operating CNC machines in a manufacturing or production environment
  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings
  • Good attention to detail and commitment to producing high-quality work
  • Reliable, punctual and committed to working as part of a team
  • Basic knowledge of Health & Safety procedures in a workshop environment
  • Strong work ethic with the ability to work efficiently with minimal supervision
  • Flexible approach and willingness to support the wider team as required

Desirable

  • Experience working in wood-based manufacturing
  • Familiarity with CNC programming or editing code (e.g., using Solidworks or Maestro software)
  • Experience using edge banders, panel saws, or other woodworking machinery
  • Valid forklift licence
  • Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing principles

Responsibilities
  • Operate CNC machinery to produce timber components according to technical drawings and specifications.
  • Set up and adjust machinery to ensure correct operation and accurate output.
  • Perform quality checks on all work to ensure compliance with design and production standards.
  • Maintain a clean, safe and organised work area in line with Health & Safety procedures.
  • Identify and report machine faults or material issues promptly to minimise downtime.
  • Communicate effectively with the CNC Team Leader and Senior CNC Programmer to support workflow and address any production challenges.
  • Assist with loading and unloading materials as required.
  • Carry out minor machine maintenance tasks such as cleaning, lubrication and part replacement.
  • Follow work instructions and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives across the department.
  • Complete all necessary documentation, including time logs, job sheets and quality records.
  • Support other departments and assist in any other duties as required to meet production and business needs.
