Position: CNC Operator – 5-Axis (Architectural Millwork – Wood)

Shift: Evenings

  • Sunday to Thursday: 5:30 pm – 2:00 am
  • Onboarding (up to 12 weeks): Monday to Friday, 7:30 am – 4:00 pm

We are seeking an experienced 5-Axis CNC Operator with strong skills in architectural millwork and custom wood fabrication. The successful candidate will specialize in SCM machines and must be proficient in reading, editing, and troubleshooting G-code to deliver precise and high-quality components for commercial and institutional millwork projects.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • 3+ years of experience operating 5-axis CNC routers in woodworking or architectural millwork.
  • Proficiency in G-code editing and troubleshooting.
  • Hands-on experience with SCM CNC machinery (asset).
  • Knowledge of woodworking tools, techniques, and materials (solid wood, veneers, MDF, P-Lam).
  • Ability to read shop drawings and fabrication documents with strong attention to detail.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work independently.
  • Commitment to precision and quality in a deadline-driven environment.
Responsibilities
  • Set up, operate, and maintain SCM 5-axis CNC machinery to produce custom wood components.
  • Interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and CAD/CAM files for program accuracy.
  • Read, edit, and troubleshoot G-code for optimal toolpaths, speeds, and feeds.
  • Load/unload materials, secure workpieces, and change tooling as required.
  • Perform preventive maintenance and ensure machine calibration.
  • Inspect finished parts for accuracy, quality, and conformance using calipers, gauges, and measuring tools.
  • Collaborate with programmers, engineers, and project managers to resolve production issues.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area.
