AJN Steelstock are looking for enthusiastic, hard working individuals to process customer orders to specifications using a selection of manual and state of the art machinery. More specifically, current vacancies include the operation of the following CNC based machines - saws, drills, rapid and plasma profiling machines. Additionally, the roles will involve the use of CombiLifts (multi directional forklifts). Should you possess experience in any of these fields, please get in touch!

Hours Available:
Day Shift - 06.00am - 14.00pm/40 hours per week/Monday to Friday - This includes a 30 minute paid break.
Mid Shift - 14.00pm - 22.00pm/40 hours per week/Monday to Friday -This includes a 30 minute paid break. All training carried out on day shift.
Night Shift - 22:00pm - 06:00am/40 hours per week/Sunday to Thursday -This includes a 30 minute paid break. All training carried out on day shift.
Salary: Dependant on experience/moving onto shift, plus benefits, plus discretionary bonus. This salary range includes the shift premium where applicable. Overtime is also available paid at time and a half.
THE SUCCESSFUL CANDIDATE WILL HAVE SOME, IF NOT ALL, OF THE BELOW EXPERIENCE:
- Welding/fabrication experience.
- Experience in operating CNC machinery.
- An engineering background.
- Experience in reading technical drawings, using measuring equipment and measuring angles.
Duties:
- Operating a selection of manual and CNC based machinery for metal processing
- Processing steel to customers’ requirements and tolerances. Working within the company’s quality system to ensure the full traceability of customer orders
- Understanding how to read drawings, orders and following verbal instructions, being available to train others in this area
- Operate forklifts, Combilifts and the crane safely and in a controlled manner
- Ensuring daily checks are performed on your equipment, crane and forklift/Combilift, these are to be carried out before you start your shift
- Collating aforementioned orders, including banding, palletising, bagging and preparing them for loading
- Loading and offloading of plate and parts from the plasma and laser machines
- Identifying and locating different steel products using appropriate measuring equipment
- Keeping machines and work areas clean and tidy
- Reporting any accidents and incidents to the HS&E Manager
- Reporting any machine faults/breakdowns to the Production Supervisor or Maintenance Manager
- Attending all training courses when required
- Following all safe systems of work at all times. Identifying and reporting any shortcomings that become apparent whilst undertaking tasks or if the tasks change or new activities are undertaken. Liaising with the HS&E department to ensure such risks are assessed and procedures amended as necessary
- Actively engaging in the identification of risks within the workplace and the subsequent assessment development of suitable safe systems of work. When necessary, intervening to prevent breaches of health and safety and/or report as necessary
- Following the requirements of the Company Quality Management Systems, policies and procedures to help achieve a quality product for the customer and reduce the non-conformances
- Following the requirements of the Company Environmental Management System to assist the Company’s objective to reduce the detrimental effect on the environment by way of waste management and any other areas to improve the environmental impact
