Norshield (an ASSA ABLOY brand) is expanding the Production Team. This role will be based on-site at our manufacturing facility located in Montgomery, Alabama. Norshield produces products in steel, stainless steel and aluminum to protect people, property and assets from threat of ballistic, forced entry and explosive attacks.
As a CNC Operator (PRDTECH3) you would set up and operate the CNC laser cutting machine and efficiently process metal components to required quality standards.

You would also:

  • Operate CNC laser cutting machine using different materials.
  • Perform precise cutting operations based on program specifications and material requirements.
  • Conduct quality checks on cut components to ensure accuracy and consistency.
  • Maintain a safe working environment, ensuring a high standard of housekeeping.
  • Ensure all work and raw materials are correctly identified and labeled.
  • Handle product and tooling correctly and safely at all times.
  • Identify and report any faults or damage to the machine, guarding, or components to maintenance and quality team.
  • Actively participate in continuous improvement activities.
  • Adhere to the ASSA ABLOY’s Health, Safety, Quality, and Environment policies

The Skills and Experience You Need:

  • Experience setting up and operating CNC machines.
  • Ability to read and interpret cutting lists, engineering drawings, and CAD files.
  • Skilled in adjusting machine settings and parameters to ensure optimal cutting performance.
  • Organized and methodical approach to work, with the ability to meet tight deadlines.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a small team in a factory environment.
  • Strong attention to detail and problem-solving abilities.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Adaptability to work in a fast-paced, changing environment.
  • Team-oriented mindset with a commitment to quality and process improvement.
