Description Supervised By: CNC Supervisor FLSA Status: Non-Exempt Job Purpose: Operates machines on a repetitive, job lot basis to produce inventory parts as required to meet production schedules. Operates equipment on production runs. Essential Job Duties: Performs operation of machine by reading blueprints and work orders. Operates production equipment by loading and unloading stock, machining parts as directed by work order, and performing all secondary operations not limited to but including drilling and deburring. Maintains part specifications by inspecting parts as directed by prints, observing operations, detecting malfunctions, adjusting offsets, and replacing worn tools. Ensures operation of equipment by completing preventative maintenance requirements, following manufacturer’s instructions, troubleshooting malfunctions, notifying supervisor when repairs are needed. Maintains performance standards by maintaining establish production rates on all parts produced. Contributes to team effort of team by documenting and communicating actions, irregularities, and continuing needs to accomplish related results. Maintains safe and clean working environment by following established safety and house keeping rules and regulations. Provides accurate accounting of materials used and parts produced by properly completing all paperwork required for proper inventory accountability. Prepares production equipment for operation by loading programs and setting up all necessary tools and fixtures required. Requirements One-year vocational training or related experience in operation of lathe or mill equipment. Demonstrated ability to use basic inspection equipment. Demonstrated ability to perform basic math skills and read blueprints. Demonstrate basic PC computer skills. Physical Requirements: Lifting, twisting, reaching, carrying, and bending Frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds; occasionally lift and/or move up to 100 pounds. Ability to safely stand for 95% of the working shift. Ability to read, write and converse in the English language.
