Description Summary/Objective The CNC Technician-Grinder is responsible for setting up, operating, and maintaining the PalmaryGrinder to support efficient production. This role involves troubleshooting, optimizing setups and programs, and continuously improving machine processes to ensure quality and productivity. This role may report indirectly to a Production Lead, with a direct reporting relationship to the Production Supervisor. Essential Functions Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions. 1. Set up, operate, and perform advanced adjustments on CNC Palmary Grinder using Fanuc controls, and ensuring equipment is calibrated to meet precise production requirements. 2. Develop, prepare, optimize, and maintain CNC programs, part fixturing, and setup procedures to enhance production efficiency and quality. 3. Troubleshoot and resolve complex grinding issues, using in-depth knowledge to minimize downtime and maintain productivity. 4. Inspect parts during production using precision measurement tools, such as micrometers and calipers, to verify adherence to quality specifications. 5. Perform first-piece inspections, complete all quality and production paperwork, and monitor in-process inspections. 6. Provide guidance and technical support to CNC Grind Operators, assisting with setups, troubleshooting, and operational challenges. 7. Identify, document, and implement continuous improvement techniques to reduce setup times, improve production rates, machining methods, quality, and safety. 8. Maintain documentation for process equipment, such as setup sheets and monitoring logs, to ensure accurate records and smooth operations. Work with additional Setup Technicians and the Engineering team to optimize machine performance, programs, and setups. 9. Follow all safety protocols, ensure proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE), and maintain a clean, organized workspace. 10. Any/all other duties as assigned. Work Environment and Physical Demands Working conditions are normal for a manufacturing environment. Work involves frequent lifting of materials and product up to 50 pounds and seldom lifting to 75lbs. Frequent use of hands and fingers to handle and/or adjust equipment. Moderate reaching, pushing, pulling, gripping, and grasping. Machinery operation requires the use of safety equipment to include but not limited to safety glasses, and steel toed work boots or shoes. Position Type and Expected Hours of Work This is a full-time position at 40+ hours per week. Days and hours of work will be determined by management. Typical schedule is Monday through Friday eight (8) hours per day. Occasional overtime, evening and weekend work may be required to meet business demands. Compensation Our current hiring pay range for this position is $19-$28.50. This hiring pay range is based on several factors which vary based on position. These include labor markets and, in some instances, may include education, work experience, knowledge, skills and certifications. In addition to this base pay, Rockford Ball Screw employees are eligible for a bonus. Depending on your position you may be categorized into different tiers in the quarterly or annual bonus plan. High School Diploma/GED equivalent or significant relevant work experience. 3. 2+ years of experience operating CNC machinery operating CNC Grinder or Lathes machinery. Capable of using measuring instruments, i.e. micrometer, calipers, gages, etc. Capable of using all required hand tools, i.e drills, screwdrivers, impacts, etc. Ability to read and interpret blueprints & part schematics. Ability to read/write, perform basic arithmetic, and follow verbal and written instructions. Preferred Education and Experience 1. 5+ years of experience operating CNC machinery operating CNC Grinder or Lathes machinery. 2. Have previous forklift experience.
