QUALIFICATIONS

Minimum of 5 years’ experience in CNC Mills is preferred for this position

However, we are willing to train the right individual in the following skillsets:

  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints
  • Proficiency in basic computer skills using Microsoft Excel, Word & Outlook
  • Utilization of basic inspection equipment, such as micrometers, indicators, comparators, calipers, and depth and height gages
  • Ability to inspect work for accuracy
  • Work call robot experience / aptitude
  • Shrink fit tool holding
  • Training as needed in plastic injection mold operations, CNC 5 Axis Milling, Horizontal Milling, FANUC and Heidenhain Controls
Responsibilities

THIS ROLE IS FOR 2ND SHIFT - 3:30PM-12:00AM

The CNC Operator/Machinist is a hands-on position focused on supporting compliance of tooling tasks and CNC-related responsibilities. This position is to support the growth and learning of an engineering-minded individual to develop the necessary skills to assist the CNC and tooling departments in creating plastic injection molds to meet our client’s requirements.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Make sure setups are correct.
  • Perform needed inspections on finished workpieces.
  • Perform daily, weekly, and monthly maintenance on assigned machines.
  • Load and execute CNC programs to produce parts from blueprints, CAD drawings, or engineering specifications
  • Demonstrate teamwork and interpersonal skills
  • Support Mold Makers/Tooling Engineers
  • Communicate effectively with team members to address any machining, quality or timeline issues
  • Ensure compliance with industry standards, safety regulations, and quality assurance protocols
  • Identify opportunities for process improvements and implement best practices to enhance efficiency and reduce waste
  • Monitor and manage tool inventory to ensure an adequate supply of necessary tools and parts
  • Perform regular maintenance tasks such as cleaning, lubricating, and inspecting machines to ensure optimal performance
  • Assist Programmers as needed to enhance utilization
  • Self-disciplined for fast-paced work environment and responsibilities
  • Support Secondary department with setups and changeovers
  • Keep work areas clean and organized
  • Assist in training new operators on machine operation, programming, and safety procedures
  • Other tasks as assigned by immediate supervisor and/or manager.
