Description
Role Overview Pro Signs, a 78-year-old signage and branding company based near Philadelphia, PA, is expanding and seeking to add an CNC Router / Operator to join our Production team.  As one of the largest full-service sign companies in the Mid-Atlantic, Pro Signs specializes in regional and national account work as well as local architectural signage projects. Pro Signs is supported by a dedicated team of Project Managers, hard-working fabricators and installers and more. In this role, you will be responsible for transforming digital designs into physical components for indoor and outdoor signage. You will handle everything from initial machine setup and material loading to final quality checks, ensuring every letter, logo, and architectural element is cut to perfection. Key Responsibilities * Machine Operation: Set up and operate 3-axis (or 5-axis) CNC routers (e.g., MultiCam, Zund, AXYZ, or Laguna). * File Preparation: Review CAD/CAM files (DXF, AI, PDF) and utilize nesting software to minimize material waste. * Material Management: Select and load appropriate substrates, including acrylic, PVC, aluminum composite (ACM), foam, and wood. * Tooling & Maintenance: Select the correct bits and feed rates for different materials; perform routine machine calibration and bit sharpening/replacement. * Quality Control: Inspect finished parts for burrs, chips, or dimensional inaccuracies, ensuring they match the shop drawings. * Post-Processing: Assist with basic finishing tasks such as weeding, sanding, or prepping parts for the assembly/painting department. Required Skills & Qualifications * Experience: 2+ years of experience operating CNC routers, preferably in a sign shop or woodworking environment. * Technical Literacy: Proficiency with software like EnRoute, VCarve, Vectric, or SAi Flexi. * Material Knowledge: Deep understanding of how different bits and speeds affect various signage materials. * Precision: Ability to read blueprints and use calipers/measuring tapes with high accuracy. * Physical Stamina: Ability to lift heavy sheets (up to 50 lbs) and stand for extended periods in a production environment. The Ideal Candidate Is... "A problem-solver who treats every sheet of material like a finished piece of art. You understand that in signage, a 1/16th-inch error isn't just a measurement mistake—it’s a visible flaw." ---------------------------------------- Sample Salary & Benefits (Adjust based on location) * Pay Range: $[Insert Range] per hour. * Schedule: Full-time (e.g., Monday–Friday, 7:00 AM – 3:30 PM). * Benefits: Health insurance, PTO, and 401(k) matching. Since 1947 Pro Signs has been a national leader in the development of branding solutions. Operating an 80,000 sq. ft. manufacturing facility and support offices, we serve a wide array of customers in implementing branding and signage solutions for national petroleum, restaurant, banking, retail, industrial and service companies.  At Pro Signs, we believe that diversity and inclusion are critical to success. We are committed to building a team that reflects a wide range of backgrounds, perspectives, and skills. We encourage applications from people of all races, religions, national origins, genders, and ages, as well as veterans and individuals with disabilities.
