Job Purpose The CNC Operator shall operate CNC in accordance with plant policies and procedures. He/she will ensure a safe and compliant operation during his/her shift. Duties & Responsibilities Assist in performing setups. Operate CNC lathe in accordance to SeAH Steel USA, LLC operating instructions. Skillfully make necessary adjustment to CNC program or machine control offsets to assure compliance to all dimensions and quality requirements. Use precision gages, micrometers and other applicable measurement instruments to validate compliance of product. Operation of a jib crane to manipulate parts Interpret sketches in order to provide a quality finished product Read and understand the Operator Description Sheets (ODS) as well as the Preventative Maintenance for the machine and Risk Assessment that is posted on or near the machine center. Perform basic quality checks at the point of production using scales, micrometers, calipers and gages. Fill out paperwork for quality tracking. Ensure completion of daily Preventative Maintenance Program. Knowledge of and strict adherence to the lock out tag out program Maximize efficiency and productivity at all times. Responsible for quality of work meeting all requirements. Follow all Company work instructions, specifications and requirements. Follow all Company Rules, Procedures and Policies. Follow all Company Safety Rules. Other duties as assigned. Qualifications / Competencies Education: o High School Diploma or GED preferred but not required. Years of Experience: o Minimum of 2 years of experience as a CNC Operator is preferred but not required. Job Knowledge: o At least Knowledge and experience within the OCTG pipe inspection industry is preferable. o Must have a good understanding of machine shop operations and processes. o Ability to read, write and speak English is preferred. o Ability to read blueprints, micrometers and other precision measuring instruments is preferred but not required. o Ability to understand and execute instructions well. Personal Competencies: o Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Safety: o Understands all applicable location safety rules and regulations and makes sure that all are being followed. Physical Requirements & Working Conditions Working conditions are normal for a manufacturing environment. Loose fitting clothes and jewelry are not permitted on site. The ability to lift 25/50 pounds regularly. The ability to respond quickly to sounds. The ability to move safely over uneven terrain or in confined spaces. The ability to see and respond to dangerous situations. The ability to safely climb ladders while carrying 40 pounds. The ability to work in loud, hot environments/extreme weather while wearing required PPE. Ability to see 20-20 when corrected. Ability to identify and distinguish colors.
