Description

CNC Set-Up Operator CompX Grayslake is a leading manufacturer of highly engineered mechanical and electromechanical locking devices, systems for world class original equipment manufacturers and manufacture of precision instruments, throttles, marine products, and accessories. Position Requirements: * Able to work 3rd shift. * Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and blueprints to understand part specifications. * Monitor machine operation during production runs, identifying and addressing potential issues. * Strong attention to detail and quality control. * Conduct in-process inspections using precision measuring tools to ensure part quality meets specifications. * Make adjustments to machine settings as necessary to maintain consistent quality. * Document production data and maintain quality control records. * Adhere to safety protocols and procedures when operating CNC machines. * Knowledge of CNC programming languages (G-code, M-code). * Experience with various CNC machine types (mills, lathes, etc.) * Familiarity with precision measuring tools (micrometers, calipers, dial indicators). * Ability to work independently and as part of a team. * Mechanical aptitude and understanding of machining processes. * Ability to troubleshoot and solve technical problems. * Familiarity with DMG Mori Lathes and Mills a plus. Minimum Skills, Knowledge and Ability Requirements: * High School Diploma, Certification or Associate’s Degree * Frequently able to lift or move up to 35lbs. * Frequent standing and walking throughout the workday. * Frequent use hands to manipulate, handle, or feel material. * Overtime may be required, including weekends when necessary.
