Job Summary We’re hiring a dedicated CNC Plasma Operator to join TASSCO's custom fabrication shop. You’ll own the operation and maintenance of our CNC Plasma tables, ensuring precision and efficiency from loading raw material to inspecting finished cuts. Your role involves managing daily machine checkups, verifying programs against technical blueprints, and safely operating heavy machinery like overhead cranes and forklifts to keep production moving smoothly. Compensation Pay based on experience Starting at $17 / hr base pay [Insert Benefits details, e.g., Health, Vision, Dental, 401(k)] Responsibilities: Machine Operation: Efficiently operate CNC Plasma tables, including loading and unloading materials and executing daily routine checkups on the equipment. Quality & Precision: Check machine programs against fabrication blueprints to ensure proper dimensions and precise cuts before running operations. Material Management: Write up plates and drops, carefully organizing and placing material in designated stations. Heavy Equipment Operation: Safely operate overhead cranes and forklifts to load and unload plate trucks and transport heavy materials across the shop floor. Shift Transitions: Conduct clear and thorough briefings with relieving shifts to communicate current job statuses and ensure a smooth operational handoff. Shop Maintenance: Maintain rigorous housekeeping standards on and immediately around the CNC Plasma equipment to ensure a safe workspace. Independent Execution: Follow complex instructions, troubleshoot issues on the fly, and work highly effectively with minimal supervision. Qualifications: Required Work Ethic: Strong dedication to quality work, reliability, and a proactive attitude on the shop floor. Basic Measurement: Proven ability to rapidly and accurately read a tape measure. Independence: Demonstrated ability to follow instructions, problem-solve production issues, and execute tasks efficiently while working unsupervised. Preferred Experience: Minimum of 1 year of CNC Plasma experience (or in a closely related heavy fabrication field). Blueprint Reading: Strong ability to read and accurately interpret technical fabrication blueprints. Precision Metrology: Proficiency in using measuring tools such as tape measures, box calipers, slide dial calipers, and micrometers. Applied Math: Ability to convert fractions to decimals (and vice versa), as well as add and subtract using both fractions and decimals. Heavy Machinery: Prior knowledge and hands-on experience safely operating overhead cranes and forklifts.
