Description

As a Principal Machinist, you will have the opportunity to utilize mills, lathes, mill-turns, and Swiss machines (among others) to produce close-tolerance parts for our medical products. A major area of responsibility for this role will be the set-up and operation of a variety of production machinery to produce close-tolerance precision medical device parts, with an emphasis on verifying and validating new set-ups for production and first piece runs.

WORK EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:

Two of the following requirements:

  • Minimum of 7-10 years of experience operating advanced CNC production equipment. Examples of advanced equipment include Swiss. Lathe and Mill machines with live tooling.
  • Successful completion of the Principal Machinist Assessment.
  • Currently employed as a CONMED CNC Sr Machinist.

KNOWLEDGE REQUIREMENTS:

  • Ability to produce parts at maximum rates with zero defects
  • Ability to optimize processes through continuous improvement efforts
  • Must be able to read, understand, and interpret G and M codes.

Responsibilities
  • Set up advanced CNC machinery such as 4 and 5 axis mills, Swiss machines, Lathes with live-tooling, etc. and operate advanced multi-axis CNC equipment, tools, and accessories for the fabrication and cutting of materials to process component parts.

  • Maintain close tolerance dimensions while producing parts at the rates established for a given operation

  • Perform verification/validation of new set-up programs for new product or pre-production parts. Perform in-process and first piece inspection
  • Complete offset adjustments to multi-axis equipment to ensure product conforms to strict tolerance
  • Provides training and technical training to less experienced employees.
