JOB SUMMARY

We are seeking a skilled CNC Machinist to join our dynamic manufacturing team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for operating CNC machines, programming, and ensuring the production of high-quality components. This role requires a strong understanding of machining processes, print reading, and precision measuring instruments. The CNC Machinist will contribute to our commitment to excellence in manufacturing while adhering to safety and quality standards.

Required Qualifications and background will be important for consideration:

  • High School Diploma
  • Completion of a certified apprenticeship program with a Journeyman Certification or an applicable associate degree and 4 years of machining experience
  • Minimum 6 years of experience as a journeyman and completion of a certified apprenticeship program. Documented schooling and years of service can be submitted for review as a substitute to a formal apprenticeship program
  • CNC Programming proficiency
  • CNC Machine/Workzone setup
  • Knowledge of CNC Machine tooling and equipment
  • Positive feedback from prior employers

    In this role, you will create 3D parametric models, 100% detailed drawings and CAM programs to manufacture components. Data management of shop files, process sheets and setup sheets for machined parts are also the Machinist/Designer/Programmers responsibility. You will have the chance to work with a wide variety of materials including aluminum, alloy steels, engineered plastics, and composites. You will utilize CNC metal working machinery to manufacture parts. You will partner with other employees to provide input and support. Occasionally, you may assist on the floor with equipment troubleshooting. You may also take part in safety initiatives in the shop to maintain a safe environment - including safety walks, safety reviews of new equipment, and guarding designs to eliminate hazards.
    This position will require both scheduled and unscheduled availability for emergency work and planned project work, based upon production and scheduling demands. This position is first shift, Monday - Friday from 7am - 3:30pm and may require scheduled and unscheduled overtime that may be mandatory to be on the weekend.

Skills to be successful in the role:

  • Experience working with DN and HAAS CNC Machining Centers. Experience with Fanuc CNC and HAAS Next Gen Control including 5-Axis UMC’s.
  • The ability to set up and run multiple machines at the same time and the ability to program online and offline.
  • Experience running manually operated equipment such as lathes, mills, OD/ID and Surface grinders, saws, hones, and drill presses.
  • Ability to hold a tolerance of +/- .0005” on precision machined parts. Ground parts to +/-.0002”
  • Strong mechanical aptitude, ability to understand fit and function of power transmission components, complex machinery with rotary and lineal travels.
  • CAD/CAM design and programming software experience, proficiency with Fusion is required.
  • Tig and Mig welding experience would be a plus, as would prior soldering and brazing experience.
  • An understanding of CMM (Coordinate Measuring Machine) machines with Faro Arm experience a plus.
  • Excellent mechanical aptitude, ability to disassemble and assemble complex precision machinery would be a plus.
  • Experience building and designing special machines and fixtures.
  • Planning and estimating job cost for material and labor.
  • Strong interactive communication skills and experience with Microsoft Office Suite.
  • A willingness to acquire advanced skill levels through personal effort and training on and off the job.

Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $24.65 - $44.68 per hour
Expected hours: 30 – 50 per week
