JOB SUMMARY:

We are seeking a skilled CNC Machinist (Lathe Programmer/Set-up) to join our client’s team. This position is responsible for the daily operations of lathe machines, including programming, set-up, maximizing machine utilization, and ensuring quality standards. The ideal candidate will have extensive CNC lathes experience and a strong precision machining background.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Minimum of 8 years of experience with CNC lathes.
  • Certification, college degree, or equivalent experience in a mold manufacturing environment.
  • Ability to perform under pressure and work independently.
  • Strong task prioritization and deadline management skills.
  • Attention to detail and commitment to quality standards.
  • Strong leadership, interpersonal, and communication skills.
  • Proficiency in time management and problem-solving.

Responsibilities
  • Follow router plan and collaborate with manufacturing on necessary changes.
  • Program, set up, and operate lathe machines using MasterCAM software.
  • Maximize machine utilization and unattended time.
  • Perform quality checks using precision measuring instruments to ensure first-time quality.
  • Document and report errors or out-of-tolerance deviations.
  • Maintain production schedules and monitor tool inventory.
  • Provide training and motivation to team members.
  • Conduct general maintenance and maintain cleanliness in the work area.
  • Assist Manufacturing Engineer and Job Leader in planning routers.
  • Comply with mandatory overtime and travel requirements when needed.
  • Demonstrate proficiency in reading and understanding quality manuals and procedures.
  • Program live tooling and sub-spindles as needed.
