Description
We are looking for a hands-on CNC Programmer who enjoys working on a variety of projects in a team environment. Motivo specializes in taking concepts and designs through the conceptual and detailed engineering phases, solving complex engineering challenges along the way, and transitioning the initial concept/idea to a fully engineered solution. In this role, you will contribute directly to that process by programming, setting up, and operating CNC equipment, including flat sheet fiber laser cutting machine and 6-axis press brakes, to produce high-precision parts that meet engineering and customer requirements. You will also leverage your expertise in CAD/CAM tools, including SolidWorks, to translate customer drawings and engineering models into accurate programs and production-ready components. Program and optimize flat laser cutting machines to produce precision parts based on engineering specifications Program and set up press brake machines for bending operations, ensuring accuracy and consistency Operate laser machines and press brakes when needed to meet deadlines and quality standards Create Work packages to send down to the operators Apply knowledge of material types, thicknesses, cutting tools, and machining processes to produce quality parts Monitor production for efficiency, troubleshoot issues, and make program modifications to optimize performance and reduce waste Inspect work before and after machining to ensure adherence to tolerances, specifications, and customer standards Implement and maintain quality control processes throughout the production cycle Document project details, including specifications, materials, settings, and QC results Ensure compliance with established safety procedures at all times Order and manage production materials, ensuring correct quantities, timely delivery, and cost efficiency Maintain accurate inventory levels to meet ongoing production requirements Train and mentor team members on CNC equipment operation, safety standards, and quality requirements Collaborate effectively with engineers, fabricators, and multidisciplinary shop teams to support complex prototype builds Bonus Qualifications Experience communicating directly with customers to understand technical requirements and provide recommendations Ability to develop accurate quotes by evaluating job specifications, material requirements, machine run times, and labor inputs Track record of building and maintaining strong customer relationships to support repeat work and long-term partnerships Proficiency in programming from customer-provided drawings, CAD files, or templates and converting them into production-ready programs Ability to identify new opportunities with existing or prospective customers and support broader business development efforts We’re convinced that the team and projects are hands down the best part of working at Motivo, but we also have some pretty sweet benefits including company-wide profit sharing, high-quality insurance plans, 401k match, generous paid vacation time, a Monday-Thursday 4/10 work week and more!
