POSITION SUMMARY

Magellan Aerospace, Mississauga has an exciting new opportunity for a CNC Programmer (Siemens NX). The purpose of this position is to evaluate product technical data packages, process planning & procedures, & tooling design to produce programming for machine tools & equipment.

POSITION REQUIREMENTS

  • 1-2 years College Diploma/Certificate as CNC Programmer/Mechanical Technician
  • CNC Programming in Siemens NX (2 to 5 axis) Axis is a must
  • Vericut verification experience an asset
  • Provincial Certificate of Qualification as General Machinist or equivalent is an asset
  • 5-10 years related work experience in Aerospace Machining/CNC Programming
  • Skilled in Report & technical information writing
  • Excellent written & oral communication skills
  • Leadership skills: check work of other Programmers for conformity to specification & manufacturability
  • CAM Drafting skills is essential
  • Ability to work independently
Responsibilities
  • Analyze design of parts & process planning, make recommendations for changes and/or improvements to facilitate manufacturing; determine tooling & programming requirements to produce parts
  • Prepare programs & cutting tool layouts using manual, computer assist, & CAD/CAM program languages, tool prove programs for machine tools & equipment, provide operator assistance for training & set up procedures
  • Follow through programming assignments, ensuring technical direction is given in all phases of the operation, investigate manufacturing delays & make changes to program instruction sheets, & make tool design drawing changes as required
  • Follow up projects to improve current methods
  • Check & approve drawings from outside suppliers
  • Continuous Improvement initiatives
