Position Summary The CNC Roll Operator is responsible for operating and maintaining computer-controlled roll forming and plate rolling machinery to form metal materials into specific shapes and diameters per customer and engineering specifications. This role ensures efficient, high-quality production and compliance with all safety procedures. Key Responsibilities Set up and operate CNC roll forming and plate rolling machines for steel and alloy materials. Read and interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, and production work orders. Program CNC machines with correct dimensions and parameters based on material type and thickness. Measure and verify product dimensions using tape measures, calipers, and templates. Monitor the forming process to ensure correct shape, alignment, and surface quality. Inspect finished products for quality and compliance with specifications. Perform regular maintenance, cleaning, and safety checks on equipment. Log production data, maintain accurate records, and report output and downtime. Adjust machine settings as needed to optimize performance and reduce waste. Report mechanical issues or product defects to maintenance or supervisors promptly. Follow all safety protocols and maintain a clean, organized work area. Collaborate with team members and assist in training new operators as needed. Requirements Qualifications High school diploma or GED required. 1+ years of experience in a manufacturing or machine operation role preferred. Ability to read and interpret production drawings, blueprints, work orders, and safety documents. Mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills. Familiarity with measuring tools such as calipers, micrometers, and tape measures. Basic math and computer skills for data entry and machine interface. Ability to follow verbal and written instructions. Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality. Physical Requirements Must be able to stand for prolonged periods (8+ hours per shift). Must be able to lift, push, pull, or carry up to 50 lbs. independently. Frequent bending, stooping, reaching, and manual handling of materials required. Good hand-eye coordination and manual dexterity. Ability to tolerate noise, heat, and dust in a manufacturing environment. Visual acuity to read measuring tools, drawings, and detect quality defects. Must pass initial and ongoing physical or occupational health screenings (e.g., lifting assessment, vision test, hearing test, etc.). Must be able to wear required PPE, including steel-toe boots, gloves, safety glasses, and hearing protection. Work Environment Manufacturing floor with exposure to moving mechanical parts, sharp materials, and moderate to loud noise. Possible exposure to hot or cold environments depending on the season.
