Position Summary The CNC Router Operator is responsible for setting up, programming, and operating CNC routing machines to produce precision parts and components according to engineering drawings and specifications. This role ensures safe operation of machinery, maintains quality standards, and contributes to efficient production flow. Responsibilities Set up, program, and operate CNC router equipment to cut, shape, and finish materials. Read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and work orders. Select appropriate tooling, fixtures, and machine speeds/feeds. Perform routine machine maintenance and troubleshoot basic mechanical issues. Inspect finished parts ensure compliance with specifications. Monitor machine performance and make adjustments to maintain accuracy and efficiency. Maintain a clean and safe work area following company safety procedures and PPE requirements. Document production data and report any issues to supervisors or plant manager. Collaborate with team members and supervisors to meet production deadlines. Requirements Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent; technical training preferred. 1–3 years of experience operating CNC router machines in a manufacturing or fabrication environment. Ability to read blueprints, technical drawings, and job orders. Ability to read, write, and understand work instructions, safety procedures, and production documentation in English required. Strong attention to detail and organizational skills. Ability to work in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment Physical Requirements Must be able to stand for prolonged periods (8+ hours) Must be able to lift, push, pull, or carry up to 50 lbs. independently Frequent bending, stooping, reaching, and manual handling of materials required Good hand-eye coordination and manual dexterity Ability to tolerate noise, heat, and dust in a manufacturing environment Visual acuity to read measuring tools, drawings, and detect quality defects Must pass initial and ongoing physical or occupational health screenings (e.g., lifting assessment, vision test, hearing test, etc.) Must be able to wear required PPE, including steel-toe boots, gloves, safety glasses, and hearing protection Work Environment Manufacturing floor with exposure to moving mechanical parts, sharp materials, and moderate to loud noise. May be exposed to hot or cold environments depending on season. Work schedule may include overtime or weekend shifts as needed.
