Description

Salary: Up to £45,000 per annum (including shift uplift)
Location: 10-minute drive from Uxbridge, Middlesex
Hours: Continental Shifts – Early: 06:00–16:00 / Late: 12:00–22:00
Pattern: Rotation between early and late shifts (no consecutive weeks) – 177 working days per year, approx. 25 weekends
Start Date: ASAP

As a CNC Setter Operator, you’ll work in a fast-paced CNC department operating a variety of machines, contributing to the production of critical components in a high-spec environment.

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Several years’ experience as a CNC Machinist (milling and/or turning)
  • Confident setting and operating multi-axis machines
  • Ability to self-inspect using standard measurement tools
  • Mechanical apprenticeship (ideal but not essential)
  • Familiarity with 5S, Continuous Improvement, Kanban, or CMM inspection is a plus

Responsibilities
  • Setting and operating CNC mills and lathes (Bridgeport, Hurco, Protrack)
  • Editing programs directly at the machine
  • Producing low-volume, high-precision components
  • Performing basic machine and tool maintenance
  • Self-inspecting and deburring components to high standards
  • Supporting lean manufacturing practices and process improvements
