Job Title: CNC Setter / Operator
Location: Clacton-on-Sea, Essex
Salary: £26,600 – £36,600 per annum (depending on experience)
Hours: Monday – Thursday, 06:30 – 17:00
Type: Full-Time, Permanent
We are seeking an experienced CNC Miller Setter/Operator to join a busy precision engineering environment. This role involves setting and operating CNC 5-Axis vertical milling machines, delivering high-quality, accurate work while maintaining efficiency and safety.

REQUIRED SKILLS & EXPERIENCE

  • Proven experience setting CNC 5-Axis vertical milling machines (preferred)
  • Knowledge of at least one of the following controls:
  • Heidenhain (preferred)
  • Winmax
  • Haas
  • Ability to interpret and work from technical drawings
  • Skilled in using gauges, inspection equipment, and interpreting metrology reports (including GD&T)
  • Experience with work holding solutions, tool holding methods, and cutting tools
Responsibilities

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Set CNC machines safely and efficiently, ensuring precision and accuracy at all times
  • Provide clear handovers to Operators and support them with technical assistance when required
  • Collaborate with Operators to maintain workflow, achieve production schedules, and meet dispatch targets
  • Perform first-off and in-process checks using gauges, metrology equipment, and blueprint specifications
  • Carry out routine maintenance and housekeeping duties, escalating issues where necessary
  • Clean, deburr, and package parts to customer specifications
  • Support the Team Leader with additional tasks as required
