CNC SETUP/OPERATOR – AFTERNOON SHIFT

Including Manual Drill Press Setup & Operation

JOB SUMMARY:

We are currently seeking a skilled CNC Setup/Operator for our afternoon shift. This position is responsible for setting up and operating CNC lathes and machining centres, as well as setting up and operating manual drill presses. The ideal candidate will have strong troubleshooting skills, a solid understanding of machining operations, and the ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment.

SKILL FACTORS:

  • Proficiency in setting up and operating CNC machinery
  • Experience with manual drill presses and conventional machining tools
  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and blueprints
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and understanding of metal materials
  • Effective communication and teamwork skills
  • Ability to measure parts using calipers, micrometers, and gauges
  • Comfortable working independently and meeting production deadlines

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent preferred
  • Completion of a college or technical machining program is an asset
  • Previous experience in CNC machining and manual drill press operation
  • Knowledge of the Occupational Health and Safety Act and regulations

Responsibilities
  • Set up and operate CNC lathes and multi-axis machining centres
  • Edit CNC programs as required to meet job specifications
  • Perform progressive setups and changeovers with minimal supervision
  • Set up and operate manual drill presses accurately and safely
  • Troubleshoot machining issues and recommend adjustments as needed
  • Measure and inspect parts to ensure conformance to specifications using measuring tools
  • Maintain quality standards by following ISO procedures and quality checks
  • Collaborate with supervisors and team members to resolve production concerns
  • Adhere to all company health and safety policies and procedures
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the Supervisor or Manager
  • Support ethical practices and confidentiality standards as outlined by JGW
