Description

Our client is looking for a tool room candidate with a background working in a machine shop environment. This position will be responsible for organizing and maintaining the tool room and all the equipment in it.

PREFERRED EXPERIENCE:

  • 2+ years of machine shop experience
  • Comfortable using Microsoft Office
  • Organized and self-motivated
    Job Type: Full-time
    Pay: $20.00 - $23.00 per hour

Responsibilities
  • Issue tools and equipment to workers, recording the information accurately to track who has what item and when it was taken.
  • Inspect returned tools and equipment for damage or wear, ensuring they are in good working condition before being issued again.
  • Perform routine maintenance and minor repairs on tools and equipment to ensure they are safe and operational.
  • Organize and maintain the tool room inventory, ensuring tools and equipment are stored properly and are easily accessible.
  • Requisition new tools and equipment as needed, keeping track of inventory levels to ensure the tool room is well-stocked.
  • Implement and enforce safety protocols within the tool room, ensuring all users are aware of and adhere to safety guidelines.
  • Customize or modify tools and equipment according to specific job requirements, ensuring they meet the needs of the workers.
  • Conduct annual audits of the tool room inventory, identifying and disposing of obsolete or broken tools and equipment.
  • Knowledge of tool sharpening of drill, end mills, reamers
  • Understanding of insert types and grades for materials being machined
  • Inspection and repair of tool holders and arbors
  • Identify potential new sources for supplies and identify cost savings
  • Interaction with machinists and operators to order the correct tooling for jobs
