South Coast Iron is a leading innovator in precision manufacturing, specializing in advanced tube and profile laser cutting solutions. We are seeking a talented CNC Tube/Profile Laser CAD Designer to join our dynamic team and contribute to delivering high-quality projects for our clients.
Job Overview: We are looking for a skilled CNC Tube/Profile Laser CAD Designer to design and program parts for our state-of-the-art tube and profile laser cutter. This role involves creating and designing 3D parts, models, and drawings while collaborating closely with our project management team, detailers, and customers to ensure seamless project execution, submittals, document control, and support for fabrication processes.

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Proficiency in CNC CAD design, including part design, drawing, and programming.
• Strong experience with 3D CAD software, specifically Autodesk Inventor and/or SolidWorks.
• Expertise in tube laser programming and familiarity with CNC laser cutting processes.
• Ability to interpret technical drawings, specifications, and customer.
• Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills to work effectively with cross-functional teams.
• Experience in manufacturing or fabrication environments is a plus.

PREFERRED SKILLS:

• Knowledge of tube and profile laser cutting technology.
• Experience with project management and document control processes.

• Design and program parts for CNC tube and profile laser cutting machines.
• Create detailed 3D models, drawings, and assemblies using CAD software (Autodesk Inventor and/or SolidWorks).
• Collaborate with project managers, detailers, and clients to develop and refine project specifications.
• Prepare submittals, manage document control, and ensure accuracy in all technical documentation.
• Support the fabrication team by providing technical expertise and ensuring designs meet manufacturing requirements.
• Optimize designs for efficiency, precision, and material usage.
• Troubleshoot and resolve design or programming issues during production.
