JOB SUMMARY

We are seeking a skilled CNC Turner Programmer/Setter/Operator for a precision engineering business based in Braintree. The ideal candidate will have proven CNC turning and programming experience, with strong knowledge of Fanuc and Haas controls. This is an excellent opportunity to join a modern, well-equipped workshop producing high-quality precision components.

SKILLS & EXPERIENCE REQUIRED

  • Proven experience in CNC turning, programming, setting, and operating.
  • Strong knowledge of Fanuc and Haas controls.
  • Experience with Haas ST-30 & ST-15 and Nakamura TMC 15 & TMC 20 machinery (advantageous).
  • Strong mechanical knowledge and ability to interpret complex technical drawings.
  • Competent in using hand tools and measuring instruments.
  • Basic maths skills for accurate calculations and measurements.
  • Experience in safe materials handling within a workshop environment.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Responsibilities
  • Program, set, and operate CNC turning machines (Fanuc & Haas controls).
  • Work on Haas ST-30 & ST-15 machines and Nakamura TMC 15 & TMC 20 machines.
  • Develop and optimise CNC programmes for efficient machining operations.
  • Interpret and work from engineering drawings, specifications, and customer requirements.
  • Ensure all work meets tight tolerances and quality standards.
  • Carry out first-off inspections and maintain quality checks throughout production.
  • Set up machines, tools, and materials, ensuring safe and efficient operations.
  • Use hand tools and measuring equipment to complete precision work.
  • Handle materials safely, maintaining organisation within the workshop.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to achieve production goals and continuous improvement.
