POSITION SUMMARY:
In Beaumont Hospital, the Director of Nursing manages and it accountable for the total nursing services at executive level. The Departmental Clinical Nurse Manager is in turn accountable to the Director of Nursing for the performance of the Healthcare Assistants and ancillary staff working in the Beaumont Homecare Service.
The Beaumont Homecare service is an established service in which Healthcare Assistants deliver quality personal care to patients in the community. It enables the patient to be safely and effectively discharged home to the community while they await the HSE to appoint a care agency to deliver their home care package.
In carrying out the work detailed hereunder the expectation is that, in agreement with the Director of Nursing, work will be assigned to the CNM2 for which accountability will be ultimately held by the CNM3.
Responsibilities:
EDUCATION/STAFF DEVELOPMENT
1. STATUTORY REGISTRATION, PROFESSIONAL QUALIFICATIONS, EXPERIENCE, ETC
(a) Eligible applicants will be those who on the closing date for the competition:
(i) Are registered in the relevant division of the Register of Nurses & Midwives
maintained by the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Ireland [NMBI] (Bord
Altranais agus Cnáimhseachais na hÉireann) or entitled to be so registered.
(ii) Have at least 5 years post registration experience (or an aggregrate of 5 years
fulltime post registration experience) of which 2 years must be in the speciality
or related area.
(iii) Have the clinical, managerial and administrative capacity to properly discharge
the functions of the role.
(iv) Candidates must demonstrate evidence of continuous professional development.
(b) Candidates must possess the requisite knowledge and ability including a high standard of
suitability and clinical, managerial and administrative capacity to properly discharge the
functions of the role.
