Co-op and Career Advisor, Edwards School of Business Summary: The co-op and career advisor coordinates and administers all aspects of the college’s mentorship program. This position will serve a key role in college outreach and engagement activities related to student employment and industry relationships. Key responsibilities include advising students on career development and employability, and designing and delivering workshops, information sessions, and events to prepare students for future employment. This role also includes supporting co-op recruitment and admissions, administering work placements, conducting site visits, resolving issues, and evaluating student performance. Working collaboratively as part of a team, the advisor contributes to the successful development and delivery of programs and events related to career services. Duties and Responsibilities: Coordinates and administers all aspects of the college’s mentorship program Recommends strategies and initiatives to promote, expand, and enhance the mentorship program and engagement with business and community partners, implementing approved initiatives Fosters and maintains relationships with business and community partners to promote and expand mentorship program opportunities Advises students on career development plans and employability through individual advising sessions Consults with business and community partners regarding recruitment options, student engagement strategies, and sponsorship opportunities Assists faculty with the leadership development course through promotion, student recruitment and selection, student support for retention, and event logistics Provides support and oversight for co-op work placements, including coordinating and conducting student and supervisor site visits, resolving issues, and grading course assignments Participates in the recruitment and admission of co-op students, such as facilitating workshops and information sessions, visiting classroom, reviewing applications, conducting interviews, and providing recommendations for final decisions, in collaboration with the team Plans, coordinates, and participates in events and outreach activities, including monitoring timelines and deliverables, coordinating logistics and promotional initiatives, tracking financial activities, and conducting pre- and post- evaluation surveys Drafts reports, compiling and analyzing program and event data, feedback and statistics, to support the evaluation of programs and services and recommendations for improvement Assists in the review and maintenance of internal and external website material Provides feedback and input to communication and marketing strategies to increase the visibility and impact of programs and events Designs and delivers career development and employability workshops and information sessions to prepare students for future employment Coordinates the college’s photo station, including scheduling, setting up and taking down, operating the station, and serving as the primary contact for students Fosters positive working relationships across campus through participating in multi-stakeholder peer working groups Participates in professional development activities and maintains engagement with relevant professional associations and committees Liaises with the college’s student-led groups regarding the alignment and enhancement of career development initiatives Communicates and acts in a respectful and professional manner, collaborates effectively, abides by policy, and contributes to a positive and productive work and learning environment Engages in continuous learning by participating in activities, training, and events related to Indigenous engagement, reconciliation, equity, diversity, and inclusion Demonstrates respect and dignity for all members of the community, actively contributes to an environment of acceptance and inclusion of others, and responds to different perspectives from a place of curiosity, respect, and non-judgement Undertakes related duties, as assigned, consistent with the nature of the position Qualifications: A bachelor's degree in business or a related field A valid Class 5 Saskatchewan driver’s license and access to a reliable vehicle Minimum of two years of related experiencenetworking and building professional relationships through business development, customer service, relationship management, or recruitment roles Experience working within a post-secondary institution or with career services is an asset Excellent networking skills with the ability to build and maintain positive relationships Excellent interpersonal and communication skills Strong presentation and facilitations skills, with the ability to effectively engage with diverse audiences Strong time-management and organizational skills with a high attention to detail Ability to effectively balance multiple priorities to meet timelines Effective problem-solving and conflict-resolution skills Ability to work effectively both independently and collaboratively within a team environment Sound judgement, discretion, and ability to navigate sensitive matters with tact and diplomacy An established network within the Saskatchewan private or public sector is an asset Proficient computer skills, including Microsoft Office applications, databases, and reporting software Department: Edwards School of Business Status: Term 18 months with the possibility of extension Employment Group: ASPA Full Time Equivalent (FTE): 1.0 FTE Salary: The salary range, based on 1.0 FTE, is $53,091.00 - 82,954.00 per annum.
