General Description The Co-Op Application Engineer (AE) role is an integral part of the Sales Operations team. The position entails communicating with multiple entities; customers, vendors and coworkers to deliver a superior level of customer service and technical support. The AE must be able to respond to technical and sales based customer inquiries related to the products and services which the company provides. The AE will work with Account Managers and customers to pursue day to day sales for the company. The primary interface is telephone calls and email. Customer site visits may also be required occasionally. Specific Responsibilities Quickly Respond to inquiries from customers Develop relationships with customer accounts and pursue/qualify sales opportunities Perform sizing and selection of control valves, actuators and other process control instruments based on customer’s application & process conditions Creating valve assemblies through use of stock components, bill of materials Preparing daily quotations Troubleshooting technical issues via telephone with customers Keeping up with new technology and industry trends Review of terms and conditions for contracts/purchase orders Other tasks as assigned Qualifications Required Competencies Strong written and verbal communication skills Customer Service Team Work Understanding of basic process control fundamentals is desired Self-Motivated, organized and professional Basic knowledge of mechanical and electrical components Be a United States Citizen with a valid driver’s license. Co-ops are required to commit to three semesters with R.E. Mason. We are flexible with the semesters but require that if you begin your co-op in the summer that you follow up with the fall semester. Co-ops tend to benefit from working consecutive semesters due to the learning curve. Required Education and Experience Pursuing a B.S. in CHE, EE, ME, Comp. Eng, Comp. Responsibilities
