Description
Position Overview The Field Services Technician performs routine and non-routine testing and observation of construction materials and practices.  Work may include the testing of soil, concrete, and other construction materials.  Work may also include the field observation of soil placement and compaction, concrete structural dimensions and rebar placement, and other construction practices.  The Field Services Technician receives supervision and technical support from the Field Supervisor and the Assistant Manager.   Key Responsibilities: ·  Ability to track and organize assigned work (Level I, II, III),   ·  Ability to perform routine sampling, testing, and observation (Level I, II, III),   ·  Be familiar with good field services practices and definition of Quality (Level I, II, III)   ·  Apply formulas for the interpretation and calculation of test results (Level II, III),   ·  Be proficient at basic computer skills and preparation of field service reports (Level II, III),   ·  Implement relevant quality control requirements including equipment calibration (Level II, III),   ·  Interpret project specifications, drawings, and work instructions (Level II, III),   ·  Handle of customer relations (Level III),   ·  Other duties as directed by the Field Supervisor and Assistant Manager (Level I, II, III).   Education and Experience ·  High School diploma or GED required ·  ACI, NETTCP, NICET or ODOT certified preferred   Skills and Abilities ·  Excellent communication skills ·  Clean driving record ·  Strong oral and verbal communication skills ·  Good math and language skills   Reporting Relationships ·  Field Services Supervisor ·  Field Services Asst Manager ·  Field Services Manager   Physical Requirements Physical Ability ·  Stand, walk, push, pull, twist, reach overhead, bending, crawling, climbing; lift minimum of 80 pounds Visual Ability ·  Visual accommodation necessary for reading instructions/materials necessary to perform functions of job Hearing Ability ·  Ability to monitor sounds for changes in machine function Work Conditions · Work exposes the employee to traffic hazards and the hazards of construction sites including dangers of moving heavy equipment, inclement weather conditions, and high noise levels.     EOE/M/F/D/V/Alcohol and Drug-Free Workplace
