The Opportunity:
8-month work term: January 2026 – August 2026
How You Will Contribute:

Ciena’s Navigator Intelligent Applications is a next generation Network Management solution for IP, Packet, and Optical networks. Based on microservices architecture, Navigator Intelligent Applications helps Network operators plan, provision, and troubleshoot multi-layer networks quickly using a highly intuitive user interface in addition to available open REST APIs. As a QA Automation developer, you will:

• Create REST API automation using Postman/JavaScript.
• Create and maintain automation builds on the CI/CD platform (TeamCity).
• Work closely with our team of developers and QA Engineers to design, develop, execute, and maintain automated test scripts.
• Automate UI testcases using Playwright/TypeScript.

The Must Haves:

• Software programming experience in JavaScript, TypeScript and Python
• Experience with Postman and Playwright
• Understanding of REST APIs, JSON, and XML
• Understanding of Windows, UNIX Operating systems
• Knowledge of basic Linux and GIT commands
• Enthusiasm for Automation development and willingness to learn.
• Ability to estimate, prioritize, plan, and coordinate testing activities within the Development Team

Assets:

• Experience with AI technologies such as Agentic AI and MCP
• Familiarity with Agile Scrum, Agile JIRA, Bitbucket and TeamCity
• Experience with web services and API testing; experience testing microservices is a plus

The pay range for this position is $25.00-34.00
Pay ranges at Ciena are designed to accommodate variations in knowledge, skills, experience, market conditions, and locations, reflecting our diverse products, industries, and lines of business. Please note that the pay range information provided in this posting pertains specifically to the primary location, which is the top location listed in case multiple locations are available.
