We have an upcoming opportunity for a 4 month fall term in the Software Development Department as a Computer Systems Engineer, where we are looking for high-energy collaborators who are passionate about software development.

In This Role You Will

• Create and implement system designs relating to hardware and software.
• Design, develop and debug applications in different software languages.
• Participate in Software development ceremonies.
• Create and implement system designs relating to software.
• Conduct code analysis, software analysis, software reviews, requirement analysis, identify code metrics, system risk analysis, and analysis of software reliability.
• Write Unit tests
• Support, sustain and document functionality of software.
• Execute software modeling & simulation.
• Create opportunities for new intellectual property.
• Support field installation of first run product.
• Develop mobile, embedded and / or web-based applications.
• Create technical documentation including user guides, design documentation and proposals.

We’re Looking For

• A bachelor’s degree or diploma in Computer or Electrical Engineering (completed or in progress). Other educational qualifications with embedded systems software development experience may also be considered.
• Strong code analysis and troubleshooting skills.
• Knowledge of any of the following compiled programming languages: C#, Java, C, C++
• Knowledge of any of the following interpreted programming languages: Python, PHP, Javascript
• Familiarity with Javascript frameworks: VueJS, React, Angular
• Familiarity with Web API frameworks
• Familiarity with various Operating Systems
• Familiarity with Docker
• Experience in software development for microprocessor based embedded systems an asset
• Knowledge of CAN-based systems and protocols such as J1939 and ISOBUS an asset
