Description

GHD is looking for a Student Engineer or Scientist ready to join our Fredericton office for Summer 2025 co-op term. Under the mentorship of experienced team members, you will provide support to the environmental engineering team by supporting brownfield redevelopment projects, working on environmental site assessments and remediation projects, and contributing to multi-disciplinary construction projects.

Responsibilities

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Assist in the preparation of project related technical documents including environmental reports, technical specifications, work plans & cost estimates, and drawings for review.
  • Field work and oversight associated with environmental investigations, O&M sites, and remediation activities will be required, and will likely include drilling oversight, soil sampling, well installation, groundwater sampling, surface water sampling, investigative/remedial excavation oversight, vapour sampling, etc. Gaining experience in the field will include the potential for travel within Québec. Field demands can include working long hours, working in inclement weather conditions, and working in remote locations.
  • Assist in the coordination and scheduling of project related work, including working with other GHD staff, external contractors, and public entities (i.e. obtain permits)

EXPERIENCE, QUALIFICATIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Enrolled or recent graduate of a Bachelors of Environmental Engineering, or equivalent
  • Working towards (CPI) designation in Quebec is an asset
  • Positive attitude, good communication and interpersonal skills
  • Demonstrated ability to work as part of a team and be highly communicative
  • Experience with MS Office
  • Valid driver’s license
  • Be a woman
  • Be enrolled full-time (12 credits or be in a mandatory internship) in a bachelor’s program for the current academic year’s fall and winter semesters;
  • Have completed more than 90 credits in your study program;
  • Be available for a business internship in the summer of 2025;
