CO2 Plant Manager (Full Time) - Brandon, MB As Plant Manager you are accountable for the safe and reliable operation of our Brandon, Manitoba carbon dioxide recovery facility. Responsibilities include the supervision of production employees and contractors; operational performance; meeting reliability, quality, productivity and cost objectives while ensuring adherence to compliance policies and regulations. Primary Responsibilities Safety & Environment: Ensure employee adherence and compliance with Standard Operating Procedures, Standard Maintenance Procedures, and Safety Policy requirements Ensure conformance with applicable governmental regulations and Linde policies Manage the safety work order system, including reporting and retaining of records Participate in audits and complete audit action plan items Conduct safety meetings and inspections: escalating as required any safety and environmental issues Operations: Lead cost reduction and productivity initiatives Work to ensure efficient plant operation by monitoring and achieving key performance indicator (KPI) targets Develop, manage and execute capex projects as applicable Conduct plant inspections Manage and escalate as required, equipment failures, production upsets, quality or product delivery issues Co-ordinate, manage and assist in troubleshooting technical problems related to plant instrumentation, electrical and process equipment Organize work to maximize use of personnel, equipment and material resources Identify issues and lead improvement plans in production processes, shift schedules, overtime levels and training Communicate to suppliers, vendors, contractors and stake holders as needed Build and promote a strong relationship with onsite customers Effectively respond to planned and unplanned operational and plant safety/environmental events Maintenance/Reliability: Manage Linde’s maintenance work order system to schedule routine work, ensure equipment inspections are completed, improve equipment reliability and document activities Plan and coordinate facility downtime and arrange outside contractors or other internal resources Maintain adequate inventory of production supplies and critical parts to ensure operational continuity Personnel: Direct the daily activities of plant staff with respect to safety, reliability, quality, cost control and efficiency Manage employee performance by setting expectations, providing guidance, feedback, and development Develop and maintain an effective, trustworthy and team based work environment all times Provide leadership and training to production and maintenance staff Administrative: Manage fixed, variable and capital expenditures – planning and tracking Complete capital requests and cost transfers Code and approve invoices Ability to implement cost controlling measures Qualifications: Minimum 5 years of experience in an industrial plant environment is required Minimum 3 years of experience in managing and developing employees is preferred Previous carbon dioxide recovery experience is preferred Knowledge of Process Safety Management standards and procedures governing safe operation of facilities is required Knowledge of financial methods and systems Afterhours support required BS or MS in Chemical Engineering or Mechanical Engineering is preferred Project Management experience is preferred Knowledge / Skills / Abilities: Excellent time management and work prioritization skills with an ability to effectively manage multiple high impact priorities Ability to make decisions in a high paced environment and balance customer needs with organizational goals A proven ability to work collaboratively and effectively with diverse stakeholder groups Keeps current on changing technology/methods and industry practices through continuous learning Practical understanding of engineering drawings Ability to understand and interpret contract documents Strong analytical, problem solving and critical thinking skills Ability to proficiently use email, Microsoft Office 365 tools to communicate information effectively to management teams, employees, contractors, customers and suppliers Ability to instill Safety policies and implement procedures in order to ensure a safe workplace Self-motivated, adaptable, and works well with teams Professional, excellent verbal, written and presentation skills Working Environment: Office and plant based-work, fixed schedule is flexible Monday-Friday Ability to climb stairs and ladders, comfortable with heights Must be able to wear all required personal protective equipment Ability to work independently and with minimal supervision An extreme respect for safety expectations and protocols Occasional weekend or night work as required Linde has an extensive background check process which may include but is not limited to, a criminal background review, pre-employment medical, driver’s license and abstract review, and may also include reference checks, employment and education verification.
