High School Head 6-Man Football Coach (Varsity) THE HEAD COACH OF THE HIGH SCHOOL FOOTBALL TEAM IS RESPONSIBLE FOR PLANNING PRACTICES, FOSTERING A POSITIVE TEAM CULTURE, AND COACHING STUDENT-ATHLETES IN STRATEGIES AND TECHNIQUES TO PREPARE THEM FOR ATHLETIC COMPETITION. THE COACH WILL ALSO REINFORCE THE VALUES OF THE SCHOOL. THE COACH MOTIVATES STUDENT ATHLETES TO DEVELOP AN APPRECIATION OF THE SPORT AND TO COMPETE AT A HIGH LEVEL. Lead film sessions with athletes to prepare for competition. * Attend all scheduled games and practices unless otherwise approved by the Athletic Director.  * Teach safe, fundamental, and advanced skills and strategies pertinent to the sport. * Collaborate with the MS Football coach to ensure players are being prepared in line with DSA’s High School Team. * Build a program that involves the whole school. Generate excitement around the HS football program. * Build and maintain a positive, respectful, and competitive team environment. * Communicate with the Athletic Director when concerns arise with players or coaches in the program. * Along with the other coaches, communicate with families any pertinent information. * Communicate regularly with the Athletic Director any wants/needs or any support needed. * Ensure adherence to all school, district, and TAPPS rules and regulations. * Care and maintenance of program equipment and facilities.     Requirements  * Effective oral communication and interpersonal skills * Minimum of 1-3 years of coaching experience; preferably at the middle school or HS level * Prior competitive playing experience at the high school or collegiate level is strongly preferred, as it demonstrates a deep understanding of the game. * Values physical activity and its contributions to a healthful lifestyle * Exemplary Christian role model. * Must align with our school’s values Physical Requirements   * Ability to demonstrate and participate in physical activities * Capability to manage physical activity and supervision * Adequate strength to assist with demonstrations and handle equipment * Good hand-eye coordination to model and guide activities * Ability to move freely and quickly to supervise students * Ability to remain active and engaged throughout practices and games * Quick reflexes for safety and managing fast-paced environments * Clear vision and hearing to monitor and ensure safety   Reports to:   * DSA Athletic Director * DSA High School Principal Date Modified: July 1, 2026
