Our goal is to create positive, high-quality athletic experiences where young athletes can develop their skills, build confidence, and enjoy being active.We offer volleyball programming for a range of ages and skill levels, from athletes learning the fundamentals to more experienced players looking to further develop their game.
- POSITION: VOLLEYBALL COACHEBCA Sports Club is looking for enthusiastic and dependable Volleyball Coaches to join our coaching team for our youth volleyball programs in Oshawa and Whitby.This is a part-time, on-site position of approximately 5 hours per week, with regular evening shifts:Wednesdays: 5:45–8:15 PM — Oshawa
- Fridays: 5:45–8:15 PM — Whitby
Coaches will work with youth athletes of varying ages and skill levels, helping deliver structured, engaging volleyball sessions in a positive and supportive environment.
- ResponsibilitiesLead and assist with youth volleyball practices and training sessions
- Teach and reinforce volleyball fundamentals, including serving, passing, setting, attacking, movement, and game play
- Demonstrate skills and provide constructive, age-appropriate feedback
- Help athletes develop confidence, teamwork, sportsmanship, and a strong understanding of the game
- Maintain a positive, organized, and inclusive training environment
- Supervise athletes and prioritize participant safety
- Work collaboratively with EBCA's coaching team to deliver consistent, high-quality programming
- Assist with equipment setup and cleanup before and after sessions
- QualificationsStrong knowledge and experience in volleyball as a player and/or coach
- Comfortable working with children and youth
- Positive, encouraging, and patient coaching style
- Reliable and able to commit consistently to the Wednesday and Friday evening schedule
- Strong communication and leadership skills
- Ability to effectively demonstrate and explain volleyball skills
- Previous coaching experience is an asset, but we are also open to experienced volleyball players who are interested in developing as coaches
- NCCP coaching certification and First Aid/CPR are assets
- Successful candidates must be willing to obtain a Vulnerable Sector Check
- What we're looking for:We're looking for coaches who genuinely enjoy working with young athletes and want to help them improve. The right candidate doesn't need to have an extensive coaching résumé - we're looking for people who know volleyball, communicate well, are dependable, and can create an environment where athletes feel challenged, supported, and excited to come back each week.
