POSITION OVERVIEW Codman Academy Charter Public School is seeking a dedicated and passionate Coach - Codman Academy. The Coach is responsible for leading student-athletes in developing their skills, teamwork, and sportsmanship while adhering to all school and league policies. This position requires strong leadership, organizational skills, and a commitment to fostering a positive and inclusive athletic environment. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES COACHING & TEAM DEVELOPMENT * Plan and conduct regular practices that focus on skill development, teamwork, and sportsmanship. * Ensure a seamless training experience for middle and high school athletes. * Instruct student-athletes in the fundamentals of the sport while fostering personal and athletic growth. * Ensure all middle school student-athletes meet eligibility requirements and adhere to team expectations. * Promote leadership, integrity, and discipline among athletes. ADMINISTRATIVE & COMPLIANCE * Adhere to all Massachusetts Interscholastic Athletic Association (MIAA) and Codman Academy Charter Public School policies and procedures. * Manage and submit all required paperwork for participation, including rosters, waivers, and health records. * Meet all deadlines set by CACPS Athletics for scheduling and participation requirements. * Schedule all non-conference competitions and manage transportation logistics for practices and games. * Attend all required pre-season and post-season meetings organized by the Athletics Department. EQUIPMENT & SAFETY * Assist in maintaining and inventorying athletic equipment and uniforms. * Ensure a safe and respectful practice and competition environment for all athletes. * Monitor student-athlete well-being and communicate any concerns to the Head Varsity Coach and school administrators. QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED * Demonstrated knowledge of the sport and experience leading and organizing a team. * CPR, First Aid, and AED certification. * Completion of annual Youth Sports Concussion Training Certification. * Successful completion of the MIAA Coaches Education Course. PREFERRED * Previous coaching experience at the middle school or high school level. * Strong communication and leadership skills. * Ability to work collaboratively with students, families, and school staff.
