Job Details Job Location: 1700 SW 75TH ST., BUILDING B - GAINESVILLE, FL Education Level: 4 Year Degree Salary Range: Undisclosed Travel Percentage: Up to 25% Job Category: Education Description Oak Hall School is seeking an exceptional coach and leader to serve as a Head Coach for our Varsity Girls Lacrosse program, to build upon our long tradition of success and to work with young players to help them develop their skills and grow as both lacrosse players and student athletes. Under the supervision of the Director of Athletics, the Girls Head Lacrosse Coach will contribute to and support all aspects of building, growing and maintaining a highly competitive varsity girls lacrosse program, by promoting a positive team environment that ensures high levels of growth and learning for all athletes. As an active and collaborative member of the Athletic Department, and the greater Oak Hall community, this Coach will serve as a mentor for their athletes, and model outstanding sportsmanship and respect for opposing competitors and teams. Qualifications Qualifications and Characteristics: Significant athletic and competitive experience in lacrosse, and experience coaching high school level lacrosse, is preferred. In addition to having a strong base of knowledge and passion for lacrosse and for the student-athlete experience, the ideal candidate will also possess an understanding of the social/emotional needs of high school-aged athletes and be fluent in different ways to communicate with and motivate athletes of varying skill levels and abilities. As an ambassador for Oak Hall, the Lacrosse coach will highly value the importance of professionalism and collegiality in all aspects of their communications and interactions with constituents in the school community. Bachelors degree is preferred Significant athletic and competitive experience in lacrosse is required Experience coaching lacrosse at the high school level is preferred Possess an understanding of the social/emotional needs of high school-aged athletes Possess a strong base of knowledge and passion for lacrosse and for the student-athlete experience Excellent verbal and written communications skills Be respectful to and understanding of students, parents, and others from all socio-economic backgrounds and cultures Demonstrated leadership and facilitative skill in both coaching, and in the technical aspects of, lacrosse Ability to inspire, engage, empower, and educate athletes with vigor and creativity The ability to work positively and professionally with both athletes and their parents A high degree of professionalism, collegiality, and personal conduct both in and outside of school Ability, willingness, and judgment to communicate thoroughly, accurately, and concisely with all constituents in a school environment, both verbally and in writing Ability to demonstrate physical activities, and specifically lacrosse skills, to students Ability to visually and audibly locate students under their supervision Ability to actively circulate throughout the diverse campus environment, including varying terrain Work in outside weather conditions, including extreme heat and cold. Ability to occasionally lift, push or pull up to 25 lbs.
