Company Description Steelmaking coal is an essential ingredient in blast-furnace steel manufacture, producing steel used for critical building and infrastructure around the world. In Australia, we operate five steelmaking coal mines in Queensland’s Bowen Basin, and have additional joint venture interests in steelmaking coal and manganese, as well as copper exploration projects underway in Northwest Queensland and Western Australia. Job Description The Coal Processing Technician: Electrical is responsible for ensuring all activities undertaken are performed in line with safety and statutory requirements. Reporting directly to a CHPP Team Leader, the Coal Processing Technician will be responsible for the operation of the CHPP, ROM/RAW feed systems, and train load-out during their shift. Moreover, they possess the expertise to troubleshoot and manage any breakdowns that may occur, always prioritizing the safety of CMW’s over production. Qualifications Electrical trade qualifications are essential. Demonstrated experience contributing to a team of professionals to deliver against set targets. High Voltage, instrumentation, PLC or control systems experience will be highly regarded. Strong fault-finding and diagnostic capability. Experience in a CHPP, coal processing plant, fixed plant or heavy industrial environment.
