Our tech services provide mechanical sampling design and commissioning for all bulk particulate materials. Job Description Join our SGS team as a full-time Coal Technician, responsible for timely and quality sampling, preparation, and analysis of samples for both internal and external customers. Enjoy the stability of a permanent position with an 8-12 hour rotational roster. Your key responsibilities in this role will include but are not limited to: Timely and quality sampling, preparation and analysis of samples. Ensure that correct procedures are utilised in all aspects of sampling, recording, preparation, analysis, storage and reporting. Assist with the preventative maintenance of all preparation and laboratory equipment. To ensure accuracy, precision and traceability of prepared samples. Assist with the calibration of all preparation and laboratory equipment. Follow routine and non-routine sampling instructions from the Supervisor. Other tasks and duties, as required and as directed by supervisor or management. Qualifications SGS will provide you with training as required and on the job learning, but as the successful candidate you will also have: Appropriate on-the-job training with 6-12 months experience in a laboratory or chemical process. Previous experience in general mineral laboratory environment (preferred). Previous coal sampling and testing experience would be an advantage. Good computer skills i.e. Excel beneficial. A valid driver's license and reliable transport are essential. Ability to work in a team environment. Ability to work shift and rosters and meet tight deadlines.
