SUMMARY STATEMENT:

The Coalition Coordinator will be responsible for managing federal and local grants that support community based coalitions to deliver on programmatic goals that address local youth and family development to enhance well-being. The Coalition Coordinator will support and coordinate district-wide outreach efforts focused on community collaboration. This role involves strategizing, planning, and mobilizing parents, community and sector members (including media, business, healthcare, substance use organizations and youth serving organizations).

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor degree or 7 years equivalent work experience.
  • Two or more year’s experience coordinating youth and/or family services and programs.
  • Extensive experience working with diverse populations.
  • Strong work management skills with the ability to handle multiple assignments and the ability to meet tight deadlines.
  • Demonstrated ability working collaboratively and demonstrated experience building effective teams in a dynamic work environment.
  • Demonstrated ability to form relationships with strategic partners and diverse constituents.
  • Ability to respond to and engage with a diverse multicultural and multiracial community, work side-by-side, and foster strong, positive relationships with parents, staff, students and community members.
  • Highly-detailed and organized in work.
  • Strong and effective marketing skills.
  • Demonstrated proficiency in computer applications, including Windows environment and related Microsoft applications. Demonstrated proficiency with Canva and social media tools.
  • Must be 21 years of age and obtain Type II Driver certification in order to transport students.
  • Grant writing/reporting and other fund development experience preferred, with strong understanding of compliance and reporting requirements.
  • Demonstrated ability to speak effectively and professionally in public to a variety of audiences. Must possess a welcoming and confident demeanor.
  • Must be able to write clear, concise and grammatically correct letters, reports and other forms of communications.
  • Demonstrated ability to identify problems, develop solutions and take the lead in solving problems.
    Demonstrated ability to meet compliance with fiscal and human resources requirements.

Responsibilities

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Attend required meetings, trainings and meet deadlines for reporting as prescribed by federal and local grants.
  • Participate in community meetings, work groups, and trainings to build rapport through outreach efforts.
  • Consult with the Family Engagement and Resource Coordinator to support outreach and districtwide efforts.
  • Coordinate services and partnership agreements to enhance belonging directed at community directed pro-social access. Coordinate programs and partnerships that encourage positive youth engagement within the community.
  • Facilitate strategic work plans to develop community partnerships; recruit new coalition members; and partner with school and community-based youth programs and other community resources.
  • Provide leadership in planning and coordinating community partnerships and awareness events, media campaigns, and community/parent outreach.
  • Consult with community based coalitions; assess, organize and train coalitions on the strategic prevention framework and implementing prevention strategies.
  • Secure in-kind donations, and identify and pursue local funding opportunities from individuals, service clubs, businesses, and foundations.
  • Lead grant writing effort to apply for Drug Free Communities Program Funding and other community directed pro-social access grants that support protective factors for youth and families.
  • Collaborate with district staff, such as Counseling TOSA and Coordinator of SEL, to offer support and interventions programs for students.
  • Make presentations to schools, service clubs and community groups about the coalition.
  • Track and prepare fiscal and human resources reports in compliance with grant requirements.
  • Supervise and direct work for youth interns. Organize youth leadership efforts, events and trainings.
  • Follow District procurement processes and procedures.
  • Mobilize volunteers, community partners, and fiscal agents to participate in the reauthorization grant writing process prior to final grant submission.
  • Uphold board policies and follow fiscal and human resources administrative procedures.

OTHER RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Perform other related duties as assigned.
  • Participate in staff development opportunities appropriate to the position as they become available.
  • Attend required trainings, possibly out-of-state.
  • Local and out-of-state travel may be required.
  • Take all necessary and reasonable precautions to protect students, equipment, materials and facilities.
