Description

OVERVIEW

We are seeking an expert in coated technical textiles to join our team as a consultant. AMS Aircraft Recovery manufactures high-performance lifting bags made from neoprene-coated drop-stitch nylon fabric. We are looking for someone with deep expertise in spread coating, calendaring, and rotocuring, with experience in handling drop-thread fabrics and fabrication of rigid inflatables or other drop-thread constructed end items.
This consultant will help us improve quality control, process efficiency, and defect prevention, providing hands-on guidance at our vendors’ facilities, which handle the weaving, coating, and fabrication of our materials into finished products.

EXPERIENCE

  • Hands-on experience with technical textiles, particularly drop-stitch or 3D woven fabrics.
  • Proficiency with spread coating, rotocuring, and calendaring processes.
  • Experience in the fabrication of rigid inflatables or drop-thread constructed end items.
  • Strong background in quality assurance, materials testing, and defect analysis.
  • Ability to communicate complex textile processes clearly to non-specialist teams.
  • Prior experience in vendor management and process improvement preferred.
  • Willingness to travel to vendor sites in North Carolina and Georgia for onsite observation and consulting.
    Job Type: Contract
    Pay: $50.00 - $100.00 per hour
    Expected hours: 2 – 10 per week
    Work Location: On the roa
