R&D CHEMIST (PAINT & COATING)

This is a full-time role with benefits. We are seeking candidate with experience within the paints and coatings industry. Requires general understanding of coatings formulation, and the general function of applicable raw materials. Recognizes technical issues, applies basic understanding of coatings chemistry, color matching & quality control.

JOB DESCRIPTION:

• Plan and conduct experimental work such as formulation, application and testing of Athletic field Paint & Industrial coatings
• Test & QC existing products. Analyze and interpret experimental results effectively to contribute to the development of new and improved products
• Work toward technical milestones and deliver results against aggressive timelines.
• Coordination and execution of new product launches
• Participate in cost saving analysis, substitutions and the evaluation of offsets.
• Collaborate with the manager, plan and execute tasks and projects within the laboratory.
• Follow up on tasks and projects in the laboratory.
• Create documentation, reports and presentations, to inform the sales and management teams on the progress of projects.
• Learn, understand and use software tools such as batch-formulation software, Microsoft Office Programs, google docs, project management tools etc..
• Manage technical relationship with vendor.

REQUIREMENTS:

• At least a Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry or equivalent
• Minimum 2 to 4 years of experience in R&D
• Experience and knowledgeable in Paint Technology and R&D Methodology
• Excellent communication, presentation, and organizational skills
• Solid understanding of basic science and mathematics.
• Possess good data collection and analytical skills.
• Leads and grows self and team through continuous learning.
• Works independently with guidance.
• Good understanding of the competition.
