OVERVIEW

We are seeking a skilled Technician to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in coax splicing and demonstrate the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment. The successful candidate will be responsible for all aspects of coaxial cable splicing, including cable preparation, connectorization, sweeping, testing and troubleshooting of both aerial and underground coaxial systems.

  • Proficient in network infrastructure management and troubleshooting.
  • Ability to operate bucket trucks safely.
  • Carry, raise and climb a ladder.
  • Carry, lift, handle heavy loads.
  • Demonstrated Ability to Work at Heights.
  • Self disciplined, self-motivated and organized.

Experience Required

  • Minimum 2 years hands-on experience in coaxial cable splicing and troubleshooting.
  • Proficient with RF testing tools and TDR.
  • Familiarity with telecom network design and node optimization.
  • Previous experience with outside plant construction would be an asset
  • Carry, lift, handle heavy loads.

ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS

  • Valid Class 05 drivers license with reasonable driver abstract.
  • Valid Powerline Hazard, Working at Heights Certification would be an asset.
  • Ability to travel.
  • Willlingness to work overtimes, weekends, emergency call outs as required.
  • Pass a criminal record check.

Responsibilities
  • Splice, sweep, and troubleshoot coaxial cables.
  • Optimize new nodes, splicing in existing nodes to improve network capacity.
  • Operate RF meters and time-domain reflector (TDR).
  • Interpret and follow CATV telecommunication prints and designs.
  • Perform routing and emergency maintenance on coaxial networks.
  • Ensure all work is clearly documented and labelled as per company standards.
  • Maintain safety and project documentation.
