Applicants must reside in the United States to be considered for an interview. Company: Cobb Summary: Inspect and process eggs for incubation, inspect and process chicks, maintain hatchery facility. Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Grading eggs via light source of traying and transfer of eggs from pedigree flocks.(10%) Setting of eggs which consists of: observes shell color and texture, internal characteristics such as streaks, shadings, discolorations, size and position of yolk, and size of air cell; places eggs in buggies, place broken, dirty or other substandard eggs in container. (10%) The placing of rodent and other baits around buildings to control pest populations. (25%) Process and vaccinate day old chicks. (15%) Record data entry of egg and chick information onto touch screen tablet.(10%) Performs the following sanitation activities: operate tray washer, remove eggshells and culled chicks; clean and sanitize setters, hatchers, egg rooms,, and chick processing areas. (20%) Other duties, responsibilities, and activities may change or be assigned at any time with or without notice such as: sort pedigree eggs by line and hen; clean hatchery office, break room and restrooms; sanitize vchicles; assist with egg orders; properly euthanize weak, ill or injured chicks in accordance with company policy. (10%) Biosecurity/Animal Welfare Requirements: The jobsite is a biosecure environment which requires showering, changing clothing and footwear before entering the facility. Appropriate clothing and footwear are provided by the Company. No jewelry may be worn on the jobsite except for medical ID jewelry and body piercings covered by appropriate clothing. Must be willing to sign an agreement to avoid any avian species (chickens, ducks, birds, etc.). Must be willing to sign and abide by the Company Biosecurity and Company Animal Welfare Guidelines. Physical Demands and Work Environment: The successful candidate(s) must be willing and able to perform the physical requirements of the job with or without reasonable accommodation. Physical: Must use safe lifting techniques. Must regularly lift and/or move, up to 40 pounds repetively items such as tray of eggs, etc; tools, such as wheeled buggy, may be required to occasionally lift and/or move up to 500 pounds. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand majority of shift (concrete floor); walk; sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls; reach with hands and arms; balance; climbing/ladder usage; stoop/bend over repetitively; talk or hear; drive a vehicle within the farm complex; enter and exit vehicle repeatedly. Specific vision abilities required by the job include close vision; distance vision; color vision; peripheral vision; depth perception; and the ability to adjust focus. Tools and Equipment: Environment: Required to work on wet, slippery surfaces and also in hot, dry, dusty, wet and cold environments. Personal Protective Equipment Required: Safety goggles and/or glasses, face shield, chemical gloves, waterproof apron, and rubber boots are required. Ear plugs will be used as needed. Chemicals Commonly Used: Disinfectants such as Synergize, Formaldehyde, Chlorofoam, Acid-a-foam, Clorox wipes, Lysol, bleah, etc. Safety: Team member is expected to follow all applicable safety policies and procedures. These include but are not limited to Hazard Communication, Respiratory Protection, LOTO and Personal Protective Equipment. Team member is expected to identify, address and mitigate safety related risks.
